Downton was filmed at Highclere Castle in Hampshire. Julian Fellowes production was a huge success and the lavish interiors inspired some of our interiors at The Harrison.
Mahogany is making a comeback and we have used a mix of Victorian, Georgian and Edwardian furniture throughout/ Our dressing tables are a fine example of fine pieces that wouldn't be out of place on the set of Downton Abbey.
Heritage Shades of Paints
The Hunter Green of the Cs Lewis room with the bookcase gives a nod to the Downton style.
The mural although not hand painted gives the dramatic effect that was in vogue in grand houses of the day.
A grand staircase
A beautiful staircase with a chandelier was a must when one entered a house like Downton.
Luxurious curtains in Rich Hues
Our thick velvet curtains in the Aristocrat rooms give an opulent, decadent feel to the rooms much like the Downton style.
Four poster bed
The ultimate bed for a romantic getaway. The bed in the Brontë room looks very classic without the fabric but we are still considering if we will choose material to decorate this bed with. What do you think ?
Gold taps on baths
We chose classic style taps in gold and nickel for our roll top baths to give the antique feel instead of the modern chrome look.
