European Heritage Open Days (EHOD)

Hosted by the Department for Communities, EHOD is Northern Ireland's largest celebration of built, cultural and natural heritage, offering free access to hundreds of events, historic sites, and unique experiences across the region.

Whether you're interested in architecture, archaeology, local history, industrial heritage, traditional crafts, family activities, or hidden places normally closed to the public, the full 2026 Programme has something for everyone: from castles and country houses to museums, churches, heritage attractions, and community-led projects, EHOD provides a unique opportunity to experience Northern Ireland's heritage in new and exciting ways.

Plan your weekend, discover something new and enjoy free access to some of Northern Ireland's most fascinating places.
