Belfast-based musicians and cousins, Rónán Poots and Neil Óg Martin, come together on Saturday 1st August, blending the vocal richnesses of the cello, flute and uilleann pipes in an Irish traditional music-setting. With cross-genre influences and an appreciation of varied harmonic languages, the duo's musical collaboration, performed live, is one not to be missed.
Neil Óg Martin
A cross-genre cellist and finalist in the NI Young Musican of the Year 2019, Neil Óg's grounding and interest in a breadth of musical styles has seen him collaborate with a plethora of musicians, including: Jack Warnock, Conor Mallon, Colin Reid, Shimna Higgins, Joel Harkin, Eve Belle, Connor McCann, David Browne Murray, Taylor Lally, Tully, the Fawn Ewes and more, affording him the experience of performing at various festivals across Ireland and functions in mainland Europe.
Rónán Poots
Multi-instrumentalist and former recipient of the Na Píobairí Uilleann scholarship award, Rónán Poots has performed extensively throughout Ireland and at folk festivals in England, becoming a seasoned figure of Belfast's traditional session scene.
