Percy French Room

Percy French was famous for his song made famous by Don McClean Mountains if Mourne, but we love the story behind the song "Are you right there Michael"? French was delayed 12 hours on the west Clare railway line and wrote a comedy song about it. He missed the gig he was going to, by which time the crowd had all gone home. The song was a hit all over Ireland and Britain at the time. The disgraced railway company took him for libel, and he won the case based on the railway, making him late for court. This room is railway-themed.
