About William Conor
William Conor (1881–1968) was a Belfast-born artist. Celebrated for his warm and sympathetic portrayals of working-class life in Ulster, William Conor studied at the Government School of Design in Belfast in the 1890s. You can visit Connor's art studio in Stranmillis facing the Ulster Museum. On the corner of Northumberland road in the shankill area there is a figure of Conor surrounded by some of his well known paintings.
