About Van Morrison
Van The Man (born 31 August 1945) is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and record producer. He's also a talented lyricist. He rose to fame in the 1960's as the lead singer of "Them" when he recorded "Gloria". His solo career launched 1969 with hit single "Brown eyed girl". Many of his songs reflect on his time as a young person living in the East Belfast. Cypress Avenue is one of these well known songs near where he grew up.
